State Hazard Mitigation Officer (SHMO) 101 Course

NEMA is pleased to announce that its State Hazard Mitigation Officer (SHMO) 101 Training Course has been updated and is now available to download through the NEMA web site. The SHMO 101 Training Course is the most comprehensive, and current, curriculum available for new state hazard mitigation officers. It offers clear and concise information about mitigation, programs and resources to assist those working in the area of mitigation. Course materials also reflect new and evolving federal mitigation programs and requirements for states to be eligible for mitigation funding. NEMA would like to thank the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Mitigation Division for providing the financial support to make the course update possible. FEMA is a valued partner in the training and professional development of state mitigation personnel.
