NEMA celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2009. The NEMA Mid-Year Conference in March 2009 included special plenary sessions, renowned speakers, and a spectacular gala reception at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to commemorate the occasion.
Since its incorporation on February 7, 1974, NEMA has matured into a nationally known and respected organization. NEMA advocates for strong emergency management programs in every state, promoting the issues, needs, and concerns of the emergency management community with the White House, Congress, the federal government, governors, and the public.
As NEMA celebrated 35 years of “public safety, public trust,” the organization sought to thank the many constituents who have helped make the association what it is today. Whether you have been active with NEMA for a year, a decade, or more than 35 years, we thank you and hope to exceed your expectations for many years to come!
