Travel and Accommodations

The NEMA 2009 Mid-Year Conference will be headquartered at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia.  The Hilton is located just minutes from Washington National Airport and downtown Washington, DC.  The Hilton is offering NEMA Conference attendees a rate of $140 per night plus tax and applicable fees.  This rate is only available until February 14.  Reservations made after that date are subject to availability and current prevailing rates.  Please ask for the NEMA Conference block to receive this special discounted room rate.  To make your reservations, please call the hotel directly at (703) 845-1010.

*Please reserve only the number of rooms to accommodate confirmed conference attendees.  Past conferences have seen the room block fill very early, necessitating an overflow hotel be contracted, only to see large numbers of cancelations at the original hotel just prior to the conference.  This makes NEMA vulnerable to fees for not meeting the room block and inconveniences other conference attendees who are forced to stay at different hotels. Your cooperation in this is appreciated.

Airline Transportation

The Washington, DC area is services by 2 major airports, Washington National Airport which is located approximately 7 miles from the Hilton and Dulles International Airport, located 20 miles southeast of the Hilton.  Most major carriers service both airports, however, due to recent changes in airline rules, group rates and discounts will no longer be offered by the airlines.

Getting Around

The Alexandria Hilton offers complimentary shuttle service to Washington National Airport.  Cabs and public transportation are also available.  Complimentary shuttle service is also available to area restaurants and the Pentagon City Metro stop.  Please check with the Bell Stand at the Hilton for information on departure times and drop off/pick up locations.
